The Suhum Municipal Assembly has officially inaugurated it’s 9th Assembly in the Municipality.
The Chief of Staff, Hon. Mrs. Frema Osei-Opare congratulated all the elected Assembly members and the unit committee members for their success at the polls. She stated that, in accordance with the 1992 constitution of the Republic appointed 30 percent of the Assembly members who together with those elected, as well as the Member of parliament and Municipal Chief Executive constitute the membership of the Assembly. She added that, they are given the Mandate to deliberate, plan mobilized resources, make decisions including by-laws to ensure the transformation of the Municipal towards the Ghana we all want.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Mrs. Margaret Darko Darkwa expressed her sincere gratitude to the Electoral commission of Ghana for conducting free, fair and transparent elections that has brought forth the new Assembly. She extended her appreciation to the outgoing Assembly Members for their dedication service to our community. She added that their legacy will serve as a foundation upon which we will build. To all the outgoing Assembly Members she says Ayikoo.
To the newly elected members of the Ninth (9th) Assembly, she offered her heartfelt congratulations on their election victory. She emphasized that, the people of Suhum have placed their trust in them. She is before confident that they will rised to the occasion and serve with integrity, dedication and commitment to the well-being of our community. She urged all to get involved, share ideas and contributes their talents to build a better Suhum.
